My son is a boy scout and I always make sure that he carries a few of these paks on him. They work really fast after being popped and get cold almost immediately. My only gripe is that they are a little too hard to activate, but the company informed me that it's made that way so it doesn't during shipping or accidentally.

The kool packs are as advertised. They get cold quickly but unfortunately my experience is that they do not stay truly cold for more than 10 min. This limits their use to urgent immediate need only. I had hoped these would serve as a good travel solution for cold therapy on a chronic injury.

I received the InstaKool packs and after some benchtop testing, was not able to reach temperatures under 0 deg C as indicated in the datasheet.

With our Clinical Trials that were held, the packs were tested at room temperature in a controlled environment with a calibrated thermometer.
