Q.) What is the expiration and proper storage of your products?

a.) Therma-Kool®: No Expiration, Store in a Cool, Dry Place

b.) Ice Brick: No Expiration, Store in a Cool, Dry Place

c.) InstaKool™, COOL: No Expiration, Store in a Cool, Dry Place

d.) InstaHeet: Expiration date is stamped on box and pack, Store in a Cool Dry Place


Q.) What happens if the contents of Therma-Kool®, Ice Brick™, InstaKool™ or InstaHeet are accidentally ingested?

a.) Therma-Kool®, Ice Brick, InstaKool™ & InstaHeet are made with non hazardous ingredients, so they are completely safe. You may contact poison control or your physician just to be safe.


Q.) What happens if Therma-Kool®, Ice Brick, InstaKool™ &/or InstaHeet leaks and gets on my skin or clothes?

a.) Simply discard the punctured pack in the garbage. Therma-Kool®, Ice Brick, InstaKool™ & InstaHeet are all water soluble- wash the affected area (skin or clothes) with soap and warm water.  


Q.) What is the difference between Therma-Kool® & Ice Brick?

a.) Therma-Kool® is a reusable gel therapy pack that will remain flexible when frozen. Always avoid direct skin contact and wrap with a Freedom Wrap®, Blue Easy Sleeve, cloth or towel before applying to the affected area.

b.) Ice Brick® is a water-based gel refrigerant shipping pack that will become solid when frozen. Ice Brick is specifically designed and engineered for COLD transport & storage of perishable items & shipping heat sensitive products. Designed as a safer alternative to dry ice, Ice Bricks are great for cold transport of pharmaceuticals, vaccines, medicines, various foods, chocolates, meats and other perishable product.


Q.) How do you get the gel packs cold?

a.) Place gel packs in either the Freezer or Refrigerator. For best results, place in the freezer for at least 24 hours.


Q.) What is the recommended use for Therma-Kool® reusable hot cold gel therapy pack?

a.) Twenty (20) minutes on the affected area; Twenty (20) minutes off (Always place Therma-Kool® in a Freedom Wrap®, Blue Easy Sleeve, towel or cloth before apply to skin.)


Q.) How long do products stay cold for?

a.) Therma-Kool®: 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on preconditioning in freezer & outside temperature.

b.) InstaKool™: 15-20 minutes depending on outside & body temperature. For more information, see InstaKool Temperature Testing below.

c.) Ice Brick Gel Refrigerant Shipping Pack: Ice Bricks will freeze to the temperature of the Freezer. Ice Bricks can stay cold for hours & when properly conditioned studies have shown they can remain cold or frozen for days.
Factors that may help keep Ice Brick cold.
• Proper air tight insulation ( EPS Foam Containers/Coolers)
• Outside environmental conditions (Ice Brick will thaw quicker when outside temperature is higher)

Q.) What are the differences between InstaKool Instant Cold Packs and Cool Instant Cold Packs?

a.) InstaKool Instant Cold Packs contain urea and CarbamaKool™ - a proprietary cooling agent exclusive to Nortech Labs. Cool Instant Cold Packs contain urea only.

a.) 4" x 6" (kit size) - Total Weight: 4 oz.
5" x 7" (junior size) - Total Weight: 6 oz.
6" x 8" (large size) - Total Weight: 8 oz.


Q.) Are Instant Cold Packs TSA friendly? Can they be placed in checked luggage?

a.) All products are shipped by air and hazmat free. However, we cannot guarantee that security will not confiscate the product.


Q.) Are InstaKool & COOL Instant Cold Packs BPA and Phalate Free?

a.) Yes. All of our instant cold packs are BPA and Phalate free.


Q.) What is the best way to dispose of Instant Cold Packs?

a.) The best way to dispose of instant cold packs are by throwing them in the garbage. The components inside the bag can be flushed or put down the drain as they are hazmat free.
